When: Saturday June 3rd from 10 am – 3 pm

Details:

It’s back! Overton Park Conservancy’s family festival, A Day of Merrymaking, will return this year on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Bring the kids and dogs to the park’s Greensward for a day of entertainment, fun activities, and delicious treats.

We’ll have music, food trucks, local vendors, arts and crafts, and lots of water activities to help you beat the heat. Our beer garden will be serving brews courtesy of Memphis Made. Hollywood Feed will be on hand with all kinds of fun for the dogs to celebrate the fifth anniversary of opening Overton Bark.

Suggested donation for this event is $5, which benefits Overton Park Conservancy. Invite your friends on Facebook.

Parking and Shuttles
Traffic will be one-way in the park for this event, so plan to enter at Poplar & Tucker and exit at Poplar & Veterans Plaza Drive. We encourage you to use one of our free shuttles, which will stop at First Baptist Church at Poplar & East Parkway, as well as the Overton Square garage. Shuttles will run every 20 minutes from 10:00 to 3:30. Here’s a map of how traffic will flow in the park.

A Low-Waste Event
This year, we’re aiming to make A Day of Merrymaking a low-waste event. With a grant from TVA, we’ll be offering free stainless steel water bottles to the first 500 people to visit the Overton Park Conservancy booth, and you can use them at hydration stations throughout the event. Clean Memphis and Get Green Recycleworks will also be on hand assisting attendees with recycling bottles and cans.

What If It Rains?
The festival will be held rain or shine except in the event of thunderstorms or lightning. Keep an eye on this page or on our Facebook and Twitter accounts for information about the festival.
